Money Debrief analyses your bank statements and produces a spending report. Because that means handling some of the most personal data you have, this policy is written to be actually read: short, specific, and honest.

Your report (and everything derived from your upload) is automatically deleted within 24 hours. Every report also has a "Delete my report now" button that erases it immediately. After deletion or expiry, nothing about your finances remains on our systems. We keep no copies, backups, or logs of your transaction data.
A future version may offer connecting your bank directly instead of uploading files. That would work through TrueLayer, an FCA-authorised provider of Open Banking account information services, and only ever with your explicit consent given in your own bank's app, revocable at any time. We would receive transaction data the same way we receive uploads, and the same processing and deletion rules above would apply. Nothing connects without your say-so; this policy will be updated before that feature launches.
Under UK GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. In practice, since we delete everything within 24 hours and keep nothing else about you, the most useful right is erasure, which you can exercise instantly with the delete button on your report. For anything else, email us. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes to how data is handled will be flagged clearly on the upload page.
